The Zoo's Early Childhood Classes are designed for young learners and their caregivers. Each class focuses on a different animal and includes imaginative play, a craft, snack, time with an education animal visitor, and an experience full of excitement. Although mostly structured, all activities are optional which makes for a pressure-free introduction to the classroom. It is the philosophy of the San Francisco Zoo's Early Childhood Programs that children deserve a friendly, secure environment that promotes a sense of wonder and discovery. Throughout various activities offered in our inclusive classes, we encourage children to develop socially, intellectually, and creatively as they grow. We value an environment that respects a child's individuality and the distinctive qualities of others. We view our caregiver-child paired classes as a way to partner with caregivers to promote and enhance each child's growth and development - all while learning about and playing like animals from across the kingdom! Visit www.sfzoo.org/toddlers for specific class offerings and to register.
