Females Against Violence (FAV) Program is a 6-month Peer Education and Leadership Program for in-risk Latina and other youth of color, ages 14-20. The curriculum includes 50 hours of training on teen dating, domestic violence, sexual assault, and gang life. After the young women complete the training they conduct violence prevention workshops and presentations for their peers and community, at schools, other community based organizations, and youth focused organizations. The training supports the Peer Educators to build positive relationships, participate in local events, gain familiarity with Domestic Violence and Health resources, and conduct research to become aware of higher education opportunities; receive a monthly stipend; and at the end of each cycle a graduation ceremony is sponsored to honor the youth; and their families, community, Board of Directors, and staff are invited to attend the celebration.
