Organization Description: 

This camp offers an excellent opportunity for children to have fun while stimulating their imaginations. Activities include: chess instruction and exercises, hikes to the Presidio, computer chess for advanced players, games on giant sets, movies, gymnastics, yoga, and theater. Friday tournaments, awards, and a pizza party cap off each week. Tournaments welcome chess players who are not attending camp for $40. 

 

Week-long Summer Sessions:

Ages:  6 to 18

Days/Times: Mondays through Fridays, noon–4pm

Cost: $200 per week ($160 for week of July 1) or $160 per week for 3 or more weeks or $1,200 for all 8 weeks; early bird discount available

Counselor-In-Training (CIT):  15 and older, FREE 

 

Classes:

Academic Chess also offers afterschool chess classes at several San Francisco public schools.
