The California Poison Control System (CPCS)
A statewide provider of immediate, free and expert treatment advice and assistance over the telephone in case of exposure to poisonous, hazardous or toxic substances. Call us toll-free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The Poison Action Line at 1-800-222-1222 is FAST, FREE and PRIVATE.

TALK (Telephone Aid in Living with Kids) Line Family Support Center

The TALK Line Family Support Center works to promote healthy families through a variety of programs, including a 24-hour crisis line, parent and child counseling, parent drop-in center, children's playroom, job assistance, and other family support services.

Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. If you need help and don't know where to turn, this center can help you find the right person or agency. During business hours, you can speak with a CASARC intake nurse. After business hours, a CASARC nurse will return your call as soon as possible.

Boys Town (800) 448-3000: A 24-hour national hotline for parents, children, and teens in the U.S., staffed by professional counselors. Spanish-speaking counselors are available; translation services for other languages are also available. The phone lines are free and confidential and they can refer you to some local resources.

Trauma Recovery Center/Rape Treatment Center. For those over 18 who have been sexually assaulted, call 911. For non-emergency situations or advice involving adults, call (415) 437-3000, 24 hours/7 days a week. There is no charge for crisis intervention and referral, either by phone or in person. There is no charge for the emergency medical exam following sexual assault either.
Youthline (888) 977-3399 offers a variety of phone numbers for youth and parents.
La Casa de las Madres provides shelter, advocacy, and support services for battered women, teens, and their children. Spanish (bilingual) services are also available. Call the adult crisis line at (877) 503-1850, or the teen crisis line at (877) 923-0700. La Casa’s Teen Program provides adolescent-appropriate intervention and prevention services to battered and at-risk youth and their children/siblings.

Mental Health Support Group- NAMI- (415) 905-NAMI (6264): NAMI -San Francisco sponsors a free, monthly general membership meeting that is open to the public.
Open Gate, support for parents of disabled children: (415) 469-4518. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:30am–4:30pm, Tuesday & Thursday, 12:30pm–8:30pm.
Asian/Pacific Islander Family Support Lines: (415) 206-5450. Monday through Friday, 1–5pm. Call for referrals to telephone support in Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Laotian, Samoan, and Vietnamese.
Parents Place, a service of Jewish Family & Children's Services, welcomes all callers: (415) 359-2454, Monday through Thursday, 8:30am–8pm Friday, 8:30am–5pm.
Josie's Place for Bereaved Youth and Families offers counseling and support for teens and families experiencing loss.
