Home schooling (also called home education) is the education of children at home and in the community, in contrast to education in an institution, such as a public or parochial school. There is a thriving home school community right here in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Homeschoolers maintains a website, sfhomeschoolers.org, which has a lot of helpful information. The group also maintains a Yahoo Group where homeschoolers share information and resources. You must be a member to join the Yahoo Group, but the membership fee is a very reasonable $9 per year.
