Clarion Music Center

Clarion Music Center is a terrific music store in the heart of Chinatown that sells musical instruments from all over the world. This is the place to look for unusual instruments from all cultures, especially Asian music. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the store is worth visiting just to see and sample musical wares that you won't see anywhere else in the City. Bring your kids to a concert in the tiny basement for music from Australia, Japan, Iran, China, Nigeria, Italy, Zimbabwe, and more. Rent a violin or a flute for your beginner musician here. The store is open for field trips for youth in grades 1–12. 

Classes:
Clarion offers private lessons in piano and violin on Fridays and Saturdays. Fees range from $20 for a half-hour to $40 per hour. Adults and children are welcome to attend group classes for the Chinese erhu (two-string fiddle), guzheng (zither), and dizi (flute). Fees are $15 per class.
