LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired (featuring Enchanted Hills Camp)

The LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired (The LightHouse) serves blind and visually impaired children and adults in the community.

Classes:
Programs for youth ages 6 to 21 are held during afterschool hours and weekends. The LightHouse coordinates sports and recreational activities (skiing, rock climbing, swimming, horseback riding, biking, and more), cooking, and field trips to museums and cultural events. Programs for teens include: computer classes, youth dances, youth summits with other organizations, paid and unpaid internship opportunities, and career counseling.

Camps:
In the summer, The LightHouse offers day camps in the City in a partnership with SF Recreation and Park's Project Insight program. Day camps are divided into two groups, kids ages 6 to 12, and 13 to 19. The LightHouse also offers family and sleepaway camps at Enchanted Hills Camp near Napa Valley. Enchanted Hills is one of only two camps in the country that serve the blind, visually impaired, deaf-blind, and multi-disabled children.

The LightHouse runs an online store plus a brick-and-mortar store, called Adaptations, located at the Van Ness headquarters. They carry adaptive aids, mobility tools, appliances, software, and more.
