Visitacion Valley ROCK Beacon Center offers programs in arts, recreation, health, career development, and leadership. They also provide weekend and evening services for the community. Programs include: tutoring, arts and crafts, Boys' & Girls' Clubs, drama, theater, hip hop, dance, Hot Shotz, DJ Club, Unique Combination, ROOTS, Waterfront Kids, breakdancing, martial arts, and open recreation.

Beacon Centers throughout the City offer a free afterschool program called Gateway to Fitness. Kids ages 10 to 14 can sign up for fun activities such as bike trips, skateboarding, hiking, and contemporary dance forms such as hip hop and break dancing. After completing six to eight weeks in the program, the participant and one parent or guardian can get a free annual membership at a YMCA branch.
