Miwok Stables

Located along Tennessee Valley Road in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA), Miwok Livery is the place for horse lovers of all ages.

Miwok offers scenic trail rides in the GGNRA, with amazing views of the City, the Bay, Mount Tam, and the ocean, and lots of wild flora and fauna. Rides for one to four people are offered Mondays through Saturdays from 1:30pm-3pm for youth ages 12 and up. Fees are $75 per person and reservations are required.

Classes:
Kids ages 7 and up can take ten riding and horsemanship lessons. They have nine-month courses during the school year for intermediate to advanced riders. Advanced students can qualify for the Miwok Livery Show Team that practices twice a week and participate in shows in the Bay Area.

Camps:
Does your little cowboy or cowgirl want a special kind of summer camp? Kids ages 6 and up spend their days with horses, learning how to ride and care for them, play games, and more. All riders are evaluated carefully and placed in the group that will provide them with a safe and pleasurable riding experience.

2013 Week-long Summer Sessions:
Dates: June 10–August 16
Ages:  6 to 18
Days/Times: Mondays to Fridays, 9am–3:30pm (full day for ages 9 and up) or 9am–12:30pm (half day for 7 to 8 year olds)
Cost: $750 per week (full day) or $450 per week (half day); $200 non-refundable deposit
Extended care: Mondays to Fridays, 3:30pm–5pm ($100 per week or $35 per day for kids ages 9 and up)
The staff will place each child in the appropriate lesson groups based on the camper's age and riding experience.
