Visit the Walt Disney Family Museum, located in the heart of the Presidio. The 77,000 square foot structure is located in three separate buildings and tells the story of Walt Disney's life in his own words, and through the eyes of his family, friends, and co-workers. Using a mix of historic materials and artifacts, the museum will include listening stations, interactive media, and more than 200 video monitors.
Family programs include screenings of Disney classics, concerts, book signings, and family-friendly workshops. Some activities and events are free with museum admission.
Innovative and creative Discovery Summer Camps are small and interactive, perfect for kids with a passion for animation, acting, film-making, theme parks, and the world of creativity. Each week-long camp is led by talented museum education staff along with field professionals as guest instructors who bring out the best ‘imagineer’ in each child. Campers bring their own bag lunch. Each child ‘graduates’ the program with a sense of pride, taking home a certificate at the completion of each camp, and dreams for future creativity.
