Description
Bay Area residents are drawn to the 2,571-foot peak of "Mt. Tam"—and rightfully so. But the state park's redwood groves, oak woodlands, 50 miles of hiking and biking trails, campgrounds, and picnic areas are worth the windy drive from the City. Other activities include astronomy evenings, geocaching, rock climbing, and, of course, the Mountain Play in the spring, which has been going strong since 1913. The spectacular outdoor amphitheatre on top of Mount Tamalpais has featured famous productions such as The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, Hair, My Fair Lady, and much, much more.
Cost
Mountain Plays: $40 per adult, $30 per youth ages 4–21, $35 per senior 65+. Children 3 and under are FREE.
